We can offer your event the unique, magical addition of a mermaid appearance! Rimiana is an experienced actor, dancer and trained freediver who can tailor an appearance to suit your requirements. Performances are informed by her experience in theatre, television and dance which allow her to bring a character to life, be it mermaid, siren or selkie.

A professional belly dancer since 2007, Rimiana will also impress audiences with her use of the sword and fan veils on dry land. Her history as a SCUBA Divemaster and Instructor and background in marine science allows her to bring knowledge and lifelong love of the sea to educational sessions as Rimiana firmly believes art can stoke imagination and interest in scientific learning.

She has always been a keen cosplayer and performing artist, having performed overseas as a dancer and alternative model as well as worked in the NZ screen and stage industries.

For her, mermaiding is a combination of sport and cosplay. It offers challenges both physical and mental but is also a form of creativity and a type of imaginative play that can sometimes be lost in adulthood. Mermaiding offers fitness, confidence and a fun way to learn water safety skills . . . . . . . Or it can just be an excuse to dress up and feel glamorous!
